6. JOHN CLEESE ON CREATIVITY AND YOUR SPACE TIME OASIS

John Cleese (Chu C 2017) (Popova M) is the ultimate actor/creator of character. I found his insights very interesting. Upon reflection on my own oasis I have for some time thought about my creative space I feel that in my office at work I am full of distraction and constantly fighting with the days obstacles in order to get the real work done. Is it because in my own office people feel that when I am sitting in it I am available to be approached or to be called or emailed....In testing this over the last 6 months I have taken to work a 9 day fortnight in the office with the 10 day being time at home in my home office with the elimination of all the every day distractions. The results have been fascinating! I am averaging about 3-4 days work that I would normally do distracted in the office all in one day. So on self reflection I agree with what John is saying the new insight he has placed in my mind is can I create an oasis in the office not just one at home and does geography play a part in creating an oasis that works for me.
